Scholarship Opportunities

The Mike and Linda Evans Dean's Endowed Scholarship

To qualify, you must be a Missouri resident that is a first year student enrolled full-time at S&T with a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA from high school. Your household EFC has to be 12,000 or below as determined by the FAFSA. You have to be majoring in a program in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Business (CASB).

A $3,000 scholarship shall be awarded annually and is renewable as long as the recipient(s) remain in good academic standing and continue to meet all other criteria. Recipients of this prestigious award will have the opportunity to be paired with a mentor and will have access to additional funds to support professional development activities.


Kent King Scholarship

The Missouri State Teachers Foundation will award non-renewable $275 scholarships to college seniors planning a career in education. The recipients of the scholarships must be enrolled as full time students at a college or university in preparation for the teaching profession. Students must also have met the requirements needed to enter their institution's student teaching block. 

Applicants must complete the scholarship applications accurately and completely to be considered for the scholarship. Applications will close on November 15 and winners will be notified by December 1.


Stephen A. Douglass Teacher Education Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded annually . The amount awarded is determined by the amount of money available. Recipients may apply for the scholarship in subsequent years. 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student has completed at least 75 hours of college credit (including 8 hours of education classes) with a B or above
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above and an ACT of 22 or greater
  • Attended Missouri public elementary and secondary schools for 13 years
  • You will need to submit a paper indicating financial need, philosophy of teaching, and a desire to teach in Missouri public schools


Priest Educational Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for students who have declared majors in physics, chemistry or mathematics, with an emphasis in secondary education. Scholarship recipients are selected each semester by an external scholarship committee. You may be asked for a short interview. This interview will last approximately fifteen minutes and will be hosted by a committee of 2-3 retired educators. TEC students will receive emails with specific deadlines and instructions for applying.

Eligibility requirements:

  • A copy of your transcript must be turned in with your application, and interest in teaching high school physics, math and/or chemistry must be shown by your transcript 
  • FAFSA is required
  • Financial need will be considered
  • Applications are available in the Teacher Education and Certification office
  • Even if you have received the scholarship in previous semesters, you must reapply
