Mrs. Kathy Berkbuegler

     Kathy Berkbuegler has been a Missouri educator for 32 years and has been in the Rolla School District since 1980. During this time, she has taught communication arts, been a cooperative teacher for student teachers from 4 universities, and served as the head of the Communication Arts Department. She has also served on many local and state committees for the Missouri Assessment Program, including item writing, Grade Level Expectations review, glossary review, grader, table reader, and writer for the Communication Arts Model Curriculum Project. Mrs. Berkbuegler has presented at the Educational Technology Conference at Tan-Tar-A, the South Central Curriculum Administrators Association, and at several workshops for the South Central Regional Professional Development Center.
     Her honors include the Huffman Award, the Wan-Tien Award, and the RHS National Honor Society Most Influential Teacher Award. Currently she serves as an instructor and a Communication Arts Curriculum Specialist for the Rolla Public Schools. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has been an adjunct professor for the College of Arts and Sciences in the Teacher Education Program since 2003 and the English Department since 2005.
